Welcome... Glad to have you!

We are worshipping together at 10 am this Sunday

Located in the town of Vineland, Ontario, we are a small, friendly, inter-generational church in the Anabaptist tradition that worships God and together seeks to follow Jesus’ example.  We have a long history—we were the first Mennonite church in Canada. On this site you can learn about the people and the work of our church, find directions to our facility, and learn about our history. You are welcome to join us! E-transfer to thefirstmenno.offering@gmail.com if you would like to make an offering.

All are welcome!  There is also an option to attend the live service via Zoom.  The link to join is as follows:

Lent Worship Series: Sinning Like A Christian

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, are a grouping or classification of vices within Christian teachings. Often, these sins are considered abuses or excessive versions of one’s natural passions. This worship series will explore these sins as a disorientation of one's love. The seven cardinal sins usually stand in contrast to the seven holy virtues. And so, the seven holy virtues will be explored as the right orientation of our love. Throughout this series, congregations are introduced to one of the cardinal sins and are asked to reflect on how this sin is present in their lives. Following a time of reflection, confession and prayer, congregations reflect on the contrasting holy virtue and imagine ways to practice it in their lives.

Jesus Taught Us Peace

At The First Mennonite Church we seek to follow the lessons of Jesus, and to love our neighbours, near and far.

Meet Our Pastor

Craig Janzen Neufeld has a deep background including Computer Science and Theological Studies, work as a medical Chaplain, and Pastoral Leadership in congregations across Canada.  Check out Craig's weekly letter to the church to find out what is on his mind lately!

Stronger Together

What would Jesus do? We look to the examples of Jesus for guidance in all we do. Our church has a strong history of refugee sponsorship, community involvement, and mutual support.

You are invited to bring your gifts and participate as you can!

Music in Worship

We enjoy singing together and blending traditions from our ancestors with music from newcomers and modern sources.  Over the course of a few weeks we will use a wide variety of style from foundational hymns with 4-part harmony to solos, and accompaniment with piano, guitar, violin, drums and more.

We Cherish Inter-Generational Connections

We have a lovingly crafted Junior Church program to teach the kids in our congregation the ways of Jesus and the lessons of the Bible.  This includes time for the kids during each service as well as separate lessons in their own age groups.
